28 Jan It’s A Domestic Life: Stan’s Story

Stan is a high-spirited 93 year old, living in Sunbury, Surrey and has been an Acacia Homecare customer since January 2017.  Having already seen our Acacia Angels out and about, Stan approached the daughter of another customer and enquired about Acacia Homecare.  She was already helping him with his garden but Stan realised he needed a bit more help around the house with other household duties.  Having been recommended by the customer, Stan readily called Acacia Homecare.

With Stan’s input and after a risk assessment had been done, Stan’s care package was put in place.  His care package involves domestic calls where our Acacia Angels support him with making his bed and washing up, drying and putting away dishes on a daily basis.  He also has a regular cleaner that visits him on a fortnightly basis.  His regular carers love visiting as he also always has a smile for them.  “Stan is well mannered and likes you to be punctual!”  Says Kimberley, one of Stan’s regular carers.

Stan enjoys his time with the Acacia Angels and has even recommended Acacia to another neighbour who may need support in the future.  Stan says “I am very happy with the carers and I get big smiles from them all.  They all help with keeping me company and the office staff are efficient.”
